As the
father of the modern-day folding bicycle and one of the leading innovators
in the bicycle industry, Dahon takes great pride in its technology
leadership. Our commitment to constant innovation has created today's
dynamic folding bicycle market where there wasn't one before. And
we've gotten a lot of people out of cars and onto bikes. But our dominance
in folding bicycle technology is such that it has become a hurdle
for other bicycle companies to produce good and safe folding bikes
for the public. Many companies have infringed on our patents, either
out of desperation or ignorance.
 Since
the founding mission of our company is to help green the Earth by
getting more people to use environmentally friendly transportation,
we offer other companies the opportunity to license our Dahon technology.
Official licensees gain the right to place a small serialized laser
sticker on their frames. This identifies the legal licensees from
many illegal infringers.
While Dahon makes it a policy to grant technology licenses only to
better manufacturers, Dahon does not guarantee their quality, which
remain the responsibility of each manufacturer. Only those products
made in Dahon¹s own ISO 9001 certified factories, and which abide
by the highest quality and service standards, are endowed with the
"Dahon" brand name.
